Thank You, Thank You Very Much

WOW, it seems like yesterday was April 30 and we were in Medicine Hat and Alaina was learning to race a Junior Dragster and now, it’s the middle of October and the spring, summer and early fall have all gone by.

The time flew by but only because of a great bunch of new and old friends that made it possible.

Thanks to Garry Waldner and to Louie Martin of Martin Components, without their assistance, knowledge and direction we would still be trying to get off the starting line for our first pass of the season.

And thanks to everyone who helped to make our year a success.

  • Dave Bodnarchuk of D.A.B. Welding & Repair Ltd., who rebuilt the Barracuda’s rear suspension, set up the car and provided his expertise on the starting line all year.
  • The great bunch of Junior Drag Racers in Medicine Hat who showed Adam how to replace and set up a clutch and provided the pieces to do so.
  • Shaun “Skippy” Zezula who was always available and accessible to answer questions and the staff at SIR who made the races happen.
  • Art Szakacs of Rudy’s Steering and Brakes (1998) Ltd.who figured out our steering issues and did a great job on the front end alignment.
  • Mark Bennett of Bennett’s Auto Repair for his tuning tips on our small block Mopar and, when we needed the transmission rebuilt took a weekend to do so.
  • Mike Osemlak who gave us great advice on what to expect and do to get into Junior Dragster Racing.
  • Catherine, Jennifer and Gwen who ran the office so well when we were away racing.
  • Randy, Fronnie and staff at Quality Tire Service Ltd. for rebuilding the Barracuda’s front end and providing the Mickey Thompson tires for the Barracuda.
  • Ray and Kari Holland of Hardcore Performance Specialties Inc. for providing us with the parts we needed when we needed them.
  • Guy Laird of RealGoneGuy Graphics for designing the graphics for the Junior Dragster, and designing the new Knight Motorsports logo.
  • Blair Alderton of Nitro Image Photography for taking a great set of pictures for us at the Junior Dragster Big Buck Shootout.
  • The great bunch of racers and staff at Oahe Speedway in Pierre South Dakota who made us so welcome at their track.
  • Ken Murray of Ken’s Kustom Auto Machine Ltd. for our stout 415cid small block Mopar.

And for everyone else who helped us get back into racing, beat us or got beat by us at the track, came to watch us race or just took the time to listen to us ramble on about racing here’s an excerpt from “On The Road Again” (with apologies to Willie Nelson) that sums up our year racing.

“On the road again, on the road again. Just can’t wait to get on the road again. The life we want is RACING with our friends.”

Thank you, thank you very much. See you next year.

George, Diane, Adam, Ester, Alaina and Taliya
