Team Manager & Crew Chief, Superstreet Barracuda – Involved in Drag Racing for 40 Years – Self-Employed Chartered Accountant – Resident of White City, Saskatchewan.

George holds a Bachelor of Administration Degree from the University of Regina and received his Chartered Accountants designation in 1978. He is a self-employed Chartered Accountant and has established professional practices in Dalmeny, Saskatchewan (1980) and Regina, Saskatchewan (1996). From 1997 to 2004 George operated Knight Motorsport Collectables in Regina, Saskatchewan. He has served as a volunteer financial and business advisor to the Saskatchewan Drag Racing Association and he assisted in the development of a plan for the purchase and renovation of Saskatchewan International Raceway. For these efforts George was named Saskatchewan Drag Racing Association Member of the Year in 1992. Community activities have included Chairperson of the Dalmeny Board of Trade and Mayor and Council Member of the Town of Dalmeny from 1981 – 1990.

George built his first race car in 1987 and began competing in 1988 in Saskatoon and Medicine Hat. Finished 2nd in the Modified Class at Saskatchewan International Raceway 3 times and in 1989 was 5th for the overall track championship. In 1992 began competing in NHRA Superstreet at tracks throughout Western Canada and the Pacific Northwest. In 1995 turned over the driver’s seat to Diane. Outside of drag racing George’s interests include five grandchildren, expanding a collection of Motorsport Collectables and reading mystery and historical novels.

Diane Knight

Driver, Superstreet Barracuda – Involved in Drag Racing for 40 Years – Accountant – Resident of White City, Saskatchewan.

Diane acquired her accounting knowledge while working with George’s professional practice and continues to do so with major responsibility as accountant for a large insurance agency. Diane is also actively involved in the management of Knight Chartered Accountant and Knight Motorsports.

Diane began her drag racing career in 1988 as crew person for Knight Motorsports. In 1991 she began driving a second 1965 Barracuda with consistent top five finishes in the Pro Comp Class Season Championship and a Pro Comp Class Championship in 1994 at Saskatchewan International Raceway. In 1995 Diane took over the driver’s seat of the team’s Superstreet Barracuda and has raced throughout Western Canada and the Northern United States. In addition to driving Diane assists in the upkeep and maintenance of the Knight Motorsports Superstreet Barracuda, trailers and equipment. Outside of drag racing Diane’s interests include five grandchildren, a cabin at White Bear Lake and computer games.

Adam and Ester KnightAdam Knight

Crew, 2010 Martin Components Jr. Dragster – Self-Employed Chartered Accountant – Resident of Weyburn, Saskatchewan

Adam is a Partner in MNP LLP and has 20 years of experience providing professional accounting, tax and consulting services to clients in Regina and more recently, Weyburn. He is the Regional Business Consulting Leader for Southern Saskatchewan. In this role Adam assists clients in attaining goals thru the development of performance management systems. Adam is a Chartered Accountant and holds a Bachelor of Commerce Degree from the University of Saskatchewan.

Adam is an active community volunteer with the Weyburn Youngfellows Club and sits as a director of the Weyburn Chamber of Commerce and the Weyburn and District Hospital Foundation. His past community volunteer activities included membership in the Wascana Kiwanis Club in Regina, and as a Big Brother.He has sat as a board member, treasurer, president and past president of the Regina Big Brother Association.

Adam was previously involved in drag racing as a crewmember of Knight Motorsports. He served as a member of the crew for a number of years while George and Diane raced across Western Canada. In 2011 Adam returned to drag racing and acted as crew and mechanic for his daughter’s (Alaina) first season in Jr. Dragster Racing.

Ester Knight

Crew, 2010 Martin Components Jr. Dragster – Self-Employed Clothing Designer – Resident of Weyburn, Saskatchewan

Ester is a homemaker raising two daughters while maintaining an interest in sewing and design that began in high school. In 2011 Ester began MoonStar Designs specializing in bridal gowns, grad dresses, and skating and dance costumes.

Ester is involved in the Weyburn community sitting as a board member of the Weyburn Skating Club and actively volunteering with her children’s activities.

Ester’s previous involvement in drag racing was as a spectator to Knight Motorsports racing activities. In 2011 she attended the Cosby School of Drag Racing where her daughter, Alaina, obtained a Jr. Drag Racing license. Alaina commenced to race a Jr. Dragster and Ester became a crew person for the Knight Motorsports Jr. Dragster.

Alaina and Taliya KnightAlaina Knight

Driver, 2012 Louis Martin Jr. Dragster – Resident of Weyburn, Saskatchewan

Alaina is the oldest daughter of Adam and Ester Knight. She attended the Cosby Motorsports Jr. Dragster School on May 1, 2011. After learning to race a Jr. Dragster she became the driver of the Knight Motorsports Jr. Dragster beginning in May, 2011.

She attends Assiniboia Park Elementary School in Weyburn, Saskatchewan. Outside of school and drag racing her interests include reading, computer games and riding horses. During the winter months she figure skates with the Weyburn Skating club.

Taliya Knight

Driver, 2010 Martin Components Jr. Dragster – Resident of Weyburn, Saskatchewan

Taliya is the second daughter of Adam and Ester Knight. She attended the Cosby Motorsports Jr. Dragster School on May 6, 2012. After learning to race a Jr. Dragster she became the driver of the Knight Motorsports Jr. Dragster beginning in May, 2012.

She attends Assiniboia Park Elementary School in Weyburn, Saskatchewan. Her other interests include figure skating, softball, riding horses and piano.

    Rain Out in Swift Current
