1/18 Scale 1971 HEMI Challenger - Gil Kirk’s ROD SHOP Dodge

 "The Rod Shop was a well knowSpeed Shop in the Columbus Ohio Area, founded in the late 60’s by Gil Kirk and Jim Thompson. Ohio has always been a hotbed of Drag Racers, and the Rod Shop had a hand in many of the successful drag cars in the area. When the original Rod Shop race team was formed, many of the cars campaigned were Chevrolet’s, along with a Ford and a few Mopar powered entries. But that all changed in 1971 when Gil Kirk and Jim Thompson got together with Chrysler and formed an all Dodge race team. The scope of the team was considerable, participating in many of the sportsman classes and Pro Stock…..Throughout the next several years, many of the top drivers were recruited to the Rod Shop team including Butch Leal, Don Carlton, Ronnie Sox, Carroll Fink, Tommy Ivo and Larry Morgan.”
